Job summary

ALTEN is recruiting a Junior Manufacturing Engineer to support an aerospace manufacturing programme in Broughton. The role is hands-on on the shop floor, providing engineering support to production teams and assisting with MES training to ensure correct use of manufacturing instructions.

You will work with manufacturing, production, quality and engineering teams to resolve technical queries and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, production or shop-floor environment.
• Good understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
• Comfortable providing hands-on support to shop-floor operators.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand and communicate technical information and work instructions.
• Comfortable using digital manufacturing systems and learning new software.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day engineering support on the manufacturing shop floor.
• Respond to and help resolve technical queries from production teams.
• Support manufacturing activities and investigate production issues.
• Provide guidance to operators on engineering and manufacturing processes.
• Support and train shop-floor employees in the effective use of the MES platform.
• Help ensure manufacturing information and digital work instructions are correctly understood and followed.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Production, Quality and Engineering teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and ways of working.
• Escalate more complex technical issues to the appropriate engineering teams.
• Support continuous improvement activities across the production environment.
