Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection in West Midlands is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to help develop antenna positioning systems and bespoke electromechanical solutions across defence and commercial applications.

The role spans the full engineering life cycle, from concept to prototype, validation and production, with opportunities to work on design reviews and continuous improvement in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with CAD packages such as SolidWorks is beneficial.
• Experience in defence or harsh-environment applications is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop electromechanical antenna positioning systems and customer-specific solutions.
• Support motor sizing, motion control and control-system selection.
• Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Assist with software and GUI development for product control systems.
• Build, test and validate prototypes.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement.
• Support production testing, reliability activities and quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production and commercial teams to deliver exceptional products.
