Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection LTD in West Midlands is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join our engineering team developing cutting-edge antenna positioning systems and bespoke electromechanical solutions for defence and commercial applications.

You'll drive the full engineering life cycle from concept to prototype, testing and production, including motor sizing, motion control, schematics and GUI development, delivering robust, certified systems for challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with CAD packages such as SolidWorks would be beneficial.
• Experience in defence, government or harsh‑environment applications is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop electromechanical antenna positioning systems and customer-specific solutions.
• Support motor sizing, motion control and control system selection.
• Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Assist with software and GUI development for product control systems.
• Build, test and validate prototypes.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support production testing, reliability activities and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and commercial teams to deliver exceptional products.
