Job summary

Safran Engineering Services in the United Kingdom is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to support aerospace cabin interior developments. Responsibilities include 3D harness design, electrical schematics, and integrating electrical systems within aircraft seats, using CATIA V5 and PLM software.

You will participate in design reviews and liaise with customers, suppliers and OEMs to ensure successful integration of design elements.

Qualifications

• Experience with CATIA V5 and Visio or equivalent
• Understand tolerances and manufacturing processes and OEM installation requirements
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical design drawings and specifications

Responsibilities

• 3D harness design, electrical schematics and block diagrams
• Design brackets for Electrical Installation
• Integration of electrical systems within aircraft seats to meet requirements
• Produce 2D/3D electrical installation and systems designs using CATIA V5 and PLM
• Participate in Design Reviews during NPI process
• Communicate with customers, suppliers & OEMs
• Ensure integration of design elements into the final product
• Support product validation through prototyping/testing
• Follow Best Practice guidelines
• Take on additional tasks as directed

Job description

In order to develop and expand the capabilities of Safran Engineering Services in the UK, we are looking to recruit a Mechatronics Engineer to support developments of Aerospace Cabin interior activities.

Key Responsibilities

• 3D harness design, electrical schematics and block diagrams
• Responsible to design the Sheet brackets required for Electrical Installation
• Responsible for the design and integration of electrical systems within aircraft seats to comply with company, regulatory and customer requirements
• Generating 2D/3D electrical installation and systems designs using CATIA V5 and PLM software
• Participate in Design Reviews throughout each phase of the New Product Introduction process
• Design engineers will be expected to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, suppliers & OEM's
• Ensure the successful integration of each design element within the product as a whole
• Participate in the validation of the product (using such methods as prototyping, test, etc)
• Follow and contribute to the development of the Best Practice guidelines
• From time to time, Design engineers must be prepared to undertake tasks outside of their normal duties as requested by their immediate supervisors

Requirements

• Experience using Catia V5, Microsoft Visio software packages or equivalent
• Experience using Catia V5 Sheetmetal workbenches
• Understanding of the effective application of tolerances and a working knowledge of manufacturing processes, as well as OEM installation requirements
• A working knowledge of the main methods of manufacture sheet metal fabrication
• An understanding of the effective application of tolerances and a working knowledge of manufacturing processes, as well as OEM installation requirements
• An ability to read mechanical & electrical design drawings and specifications
• Good communicator liaising with customers/airframers/suppliers and integrated programme team on a daily basis
