Job summary

SAFRAN LIMITED is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Cwmbran, South Wales. You will be responsible for producing detailed electrical installation models and drawings for aircraft seating systems.

The role involves designing 3D harnesses, creating schematics, and validating products through prototyping. Ideal candidates will hold a degree in electrical engineering or equivalent and have experience with CAD tools.

Role Overview

Senior Electrical Design Engineer – responsible for producing electrical installation models and detailed drawings for new product and platform designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design 3D harnesses, electrical schematics and block diagrams.
• Integrate electrical systems within aircraft seats.
• Create 2D/3D electrical installation and system designs using CATIA V5 and PLM software.
• Participate in Design Reviews throughout each phase of the New Product Introduction process.
• Validate the product using prototyping and testing.
• Contribute to the development of best‑practice guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• Alternatively, a HNC / HND or equivalent with experience in a technical role.
• Experience with 3D CAD & AutoCAD electrical software.
• Ability to mentor junior team members.
