Outcomes First Group in Suffolk is seeking a Mechanics Instructor/Teacher to bring learning to life with practical, engaging lessons for pupils at Wetheringsett Manor. You will work with the Headteacher to deliver high-quality mechanics teaching and contribute to curriculum development.

The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, start October 2026, and offers a salary up to £42,000 per annum with permanent, term-time only arrangements. UK applicants only.

Qualifications

• UK QTS (desirable) – industry experience warmly welcomed.
• UK driving licence is essential.

Job Title: Mechanics Instructor / Teacher

Location: Wetheringsett Manor, Suffolk, IP14 5QX

Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.15am - 3.45pm

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum (depending on experience/qualifications, not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role

As a Mechanics Instructor/Teacher, you'll play a key role in bringing learning to life, helping pupils develop valuable practical skills, confidence and independence alongside their academic learning. Working closely with the Headteacher, you'll contribute to delivering high-quality teaching and creating engaging learning experiences that motivate pupils and help them achieve their potential.

You’ll teach mechanics alongside other subjects as required, adapting your approach to meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of our pupils. Through practical activities, real-world experiences and engaging lessons, you'll help young people discover their strengths, develop new skills and build a sense of achievement.

You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to the wider development of the school's curriculum, taking on additional responsibilities as agreed with the Head of Education.
