Outcomes First Group in Suffolk is seeking a Mechanics Instructor/Teacher to bring learning to life, helping pupils gain practical skills, confidence and independence alongside their academic work. You’ll deliver a hands-on mechanics curriculum, adapt to individual needs, plan engaging lessons and contribute to the school’s wider curriculum with new ideas.

Job Title: Mechanics Instructor / Teacher

Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.15am - 3.45pm

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum (depending on experience/qualifications, not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Start: October 2026

About the Role

As a Mechanics Instructor/Teacher, you’ll play a key role in bringing learning to life, helping pupils develop valuable practical skills, confidence and independence alongside their academic learning. Working closely with the Headteacher, you’ll contribute to delivering high-quality teaching and creating engaging learning experiences that motivate pupils and help them achieve their potential.

You’ll teach mechanics alongside other subjects as required, adapting your approach to meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of our pupils. Through practical activities, real-world experiences and engaging lessons, you’ll help young people discover their strengths, develop new skills and build a sense of achievement.

You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to the wider development of the school’s curriculum, taking on additional responsibilities as agreed with the Head of Education. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and creative educator to make a genuine difference while helping shape an ambitious and engaging educational offer.
