Job summary

Outcomes First Group's Wetheringsett Manor School in Suffolk is seeking an enthusiastic Outdoor Education Teacher to lead and develop our outdoor learning provision for pupils aged 11-18 with SEND.

You will deliver engaging learning experiences, build confidence and resilience, and work with the therapy team to tailor programmes such as Forest School, Horticulture and Duke of Edinburgh. A QTS or equivalent is required, and driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification required.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND, ASD, SEMH, or complex needs.
• Passionate about outdoor learning and experiential education.
• Experience delivering Forest School, Horticulture, DofE or similar outdoor programmes.
• Able to inspire pupils who may have learning barriers.
• Organised, resilient and committed to achieving the best outcomes.

• Work collaboratively with the therapy team to create meaningful, pupil-centred learning experiences.
• Plan, assess, and monitor pupil progress to ensure strong outcomes.
• Create safe, stimulating, and engaging learning environments both indoors and outdoors.
• Support pupils to develop independence, confidence, social skills, and resilience.
• Build positive relationships with families, colleagues, and external professionals.

Location: Wetheringsett Manor, Suffolk, IP14 5QX
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.15am - 3.45pm
Salary: £39,000 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent Term Time Only
Start: October 2026

About the Role

At Wetheringsett Manor School, we are looking for an enthusiastic and creativeOutdoor Education Teacher to lead and develop our outdoor learning provision, supporting pupils aged 11-18 with a range of additional needs, including ASD and SEMH. As our Outdoor Education Teacher, you will deliver engaging and meaningful learning experiences that help pupils build confidence, resilience, independence, and practical life skills.

You will take a lead role in developing and enhancing the school's outdoor education curriculum, delivering programmes such as:

• Forest School
• Horticulture
• Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE)
• Life Skills Education (WMS101)

Working closely with teaching staff, therapists, families, and external agencies, you will create personalised learning opportunities that enable every pupil to achieve their potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

What You'll Bring
