Job summary

The University of Sheffield is offering a Mechanical Technician Apprentice position within the Engineering & Maintenance Team of the Department of Estates & Facilities Management. The role combines hands-on maintenance tasks with formal learning to achieve an NVQ level 3.

You will report to the Operations Manager and undertake planned and reactive maintenance across the University estate, developing practical and technical skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• GCSEs A-C in Maths and English or equivalent.
• Commitment to completing the apprenticeship and on/off the job training.
• Full valid UK driving license desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive Mechanical maintenance safely under supervision.
• Prioritise jobs and communicate progress with stakeholders under supervision.
• Attend relevant training and complete assignments as part of the apprenticeship.
