Job summary

The University of Sheffield is seeking a Maintenance Plumber/Technician (G5) to perform planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across university buildings. You will work within the Engineering and Maintenance team, prioritise tasks per SLAs, and collaborate with contractors while ensuring health and safety compliance.

The role requires an apprenticeship in mechanical building services or equivalent experience, City & Guilds Level 3, and Gas Safe registration.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent in mechanical building services (plumbing).
• City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent experience.
• Gas Safe registration on domestic and commercial premises.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on a range of services and systems.
• Prioritise urgent jobs and follow SLAs.
• Maintain tools, equipment and vehicles and manage stock levels.
