Position
An opportunity has arisen in the East Sector Estates Department for a suitably experienced Mechanical Technician within University Hospital Crosshouse, Kilmarnock.
What You Will Do
To assist in the provision of a comprehensive multi-site installation, maintenance and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) service and to maximise the efficiency and quality of the mechanical, electrical and environmental services of NHS Ayrshire & Arran using resources available.
You will be part of a team reporting directly to the Mechanical Supervisor, responsible for the delivery of engineering services within a hospital environment and across community premises. You should be able to demonstrate versatility and experience on a range of complex mechanical engineering maintenance work task schedules in addition to being an effective communicator.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job
A City & Guilds Craft Certificate/Level 3 Certificate, or equivalent for the trade is essential. Experience in building services within a hospital environment including heating ventilation, air conditioning & decontamination would be an advantage. You will have completed a recognised apprenticeship and having gained extensive experience in this field

Hours
37 hours per week
Shift Pattern
8.00am to 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 1.30pm Friday
You will also be required to take part in an on call rota and be able to work at other hospitals within Ayrshire to meet the demands of the service. Due to the requirement to participate in an on call rota it is desirable that the successful applicant should live no more than 30 minutes travelling time from the hospital.

Driving licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
