Job summary

DC Solutions Services Ltd in Hoddesdon is recruiting a Mechanical Supervisor to oversee on-site planned works and maintenance programmes within the water industry.

You will lead a team, ensure safety procedures, perform site surveys, coordinate with Project Managers, and manage consumables to ensure timely, quality delivery. A competitive package is offered with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths completed.
• Modern apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering.
• CSCS or equivalent required.
• EUSR Water & Sewage preferred.
• PASMA and IPAF desirable but not essential.
• Confined space training desirable.
• Abrasive wheels training desirable.
• Working knowledge of pipework, screens, pumps and motors.

Responsibilities

• Carry out on site dynamic risk assessments and identify hazards.
• Mechanical fault finding and problem solving.
• Mechanical site installations and plan day works.
• Provide technical assistance to ground operatives to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate with customer and Project Managers on access/planning issues.
• Perform site inspections and maintain site diaries.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and incidents reported.
• Carry out site surveys and attend client meetings.
• Maintain stock of consumables and restock as needed.

Mechanical Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Carry out on site dynamic risk assessments and identify health and safety hazards.
• Mechanical fault finding and problem solving.
• Mechanical site installations.
• Plan day works and ensure appropriate skill sets are applied to task.
• Provide technical assistance to ground operatives to ensure jobs are attended promptly and are closed efficiently / without the need for re-attendance.
• Liaise with the customer and Project Managers to address any access issues / planning issues that may arise.
• Carry out site inspections and completion of site diaries.
• Ensure all operatives are adhering to safety procedures and that near misses / accidents / incidents and non-conformances are reported.
• Carry out site surveys and attend client meetings.
• Ensure stock of consumables is maintained and restocked accordingly.

Mechanical Supervisor Requirements:

• PossessGCSE or an equivalent standard in English and Maths.
• Successfully completed a modern apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering.
• Relevant experience with engineering environment (preferred but not essential)
• Hold: CSCS or equivalent
• EUSR Water and Sewage (Preferred not essential)
• PASMA (Desired but not essential)
• IPAF (Desired but not essential)
• Confined space – high risk (Desired but not essential)
• Abrasive wheels (Desired but not essential)
• Working knowledge of pipework, screens, pumps, and motors.
• Experience in on-site engineering environment is essential.
• Hard working, good communication skills and conscientious- Maintain a positive attitude and ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Ability to work on own initiative, be self-motivated and work part of a team.
