Job summary

Lanesra Technical Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Site Supervisor for a Tier 1 D&B contractor delivering water projects in the North West. You will supervise mechanical site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery to the correct standards.

Reporting to the M&E Manager, you will oversee method statements, workmanship and documentation, maintain safety compliance, and drive improvements across the project team.

Qualifications

• HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent apprenticeship.
• Experience in Water, Sewage, Renewables or Energy sector.
• Knowledge of pipework fabrication, welding, and erection.
• Familiar with Isometric, GA and P&ID drawings and standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager to maintain a safe working environment.
• Keep HS&E documents up to date and current.
• Ensure documents describe the work to be done.
• Review Method Statements and Work Instructions to project plan.
• Supervise work per Method Statements and track progress.
• Record non-conformances and drive improvements.

Position: Mechanical Site Supervisor - Water

Location: United Utilities Region

Salary Guide: £60,000 Plus Car/Allowance & Excellent Package

Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominantly in the water industry who have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects for United Utilities and they are recruiting for a Mechanical Site Supervisor to help deliver these projects throughout the North West.

You will report to the M&E Manager and your role will supervise and control all mechanical site activities in the most efficient manner, to the specification and within the contract time without risk to the health and safety of all concerned and providing a quality end product, ensuring a Quality installation with all ITP,s completed as the work progresses.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Support the Site Manager in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, supply chain partners and visitors;
• Ensure that all relevant HS&E documents are correctly recorded and reviewed when received and that they are the latest version;
• Check that all relevant documents adequately describe the work to be carried out;
• Review and comment on Method Statements and Work Instructions as required by the Project Execution Plan;
• Supervise work to ensure that it is carried out in accordance with Method Statements and Work Instructions;
• Record the progress of the works on record drawings or other suitable means when required;
• Record all non-conformance and improvement opportunities and agree action with the person in charge of the works.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or good apprenticeship in pipework and welding along with experience
• Experience of working in the Water, Sewage, Renewables or Energy sector.
• Understand pipework fabrication, welding and erection. Recognises quality welding.
• Ability to punch and snag pipelines in accordance with Isometric, GA and P&ID drawings.
