Job summary

Lanesra Technical Recruitment seeks a Mechanical Site Supervisor - Water for projects in the North West. You will oversee mechanical site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery in line with project plans.

You will support the Site Manager, manage method statements and ITPs, and coordinate pipework fabrication, welding, and erection. CSCS/SSSTS and a strong safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a strong welding/pipework apprenticeship.
• Experience in Water, Sewage, Renewables or Energy sectors.
• Knowledge of pipework fabrication, welding and erection.
• Ability to punch and snag pipelines to Isometric, GA and P&ID drawings.
• Formal HS&E qualifications and site safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager to maintain a safe working environment on site.
• Ensure HS&E documents are current, reviewed and uploaded as required.
• Describe work accurately on method statements and work instructions.
• Supervise activities to aligned with approved methods and drawings.
• Record progress on drawings and track non-conformances with actions.

Job description

Position: Mechanical Site Supervisor - Water

Location: United Utilities Region

Salary Guide: 60,000 Plus Car/Allowance & Excellent Package

Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominantly in the water industry who have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects for United Utilities and they are recruiting for a Mechanical Site Supervisor to help deliver these projects throughout the North West.

You will report to the M&E Manager and your role will supervise and control all mechanical site activities in the most efficient manner, to the specification and within the contract time without risk to the health and safety of all concerned and providing a quality end product, ensuring a Quality installation with all ITP,s completed as the work progresses.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Support the Site Manager in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, supply chain partners and visitors;
• Ensure that all relevant HS&E documents are correctly recorded and reviewed when received and that they are the latest version;
• Check that all relevant documents adequately describe the work to be carried out;
• Review and comment on Method Statements and Work Instructions as required by the Project Execution Plan;
• Supervise work to ensure that it is carried out in accordance with Method Statements and Work Instructions;
• Record the progress of the works on record drawings or other suitable means when required;
• Record all non-conformance and improvement opportunities and agree action with the person in charge of the works.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or good apprenticeship in pipework and welding along with experience
• Experience of working in the Water, Sewage, Renewables or Energy sector.
• Understand pipework fabrication, welding and erection. Recognises quality welding.
• Ability to punch and snag pipelines in accordance with Isometric, GA and P&ID drawings.
