Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions is recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a plumbing bias to be based at a prestigious commercial office building in Charing Cross, London. You will join a two-person on-site maintenance team to carry out planned and reactive mechanical, electrical, and fabric maintenance.

The ideal candidate will hold City & Guilds/NVQ qualifications and have proven experience in commercial building maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical, electrical, and fabric maintenance
• Maintain pumps, motors, seals, bearings, and emergency lighting
• Service AHUs and FCUs, perform filter changes and cleaning
• Monitor water treatment and temperature controls for compliance
• Perform plumbing tasks including unblocking toilets and replacing taps
• Support BMS monitoring and basic operation of water systems

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Plumbing Biased) FM Service Provider | Charing Cross, London | Up to £43,000

CBW Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a leading Facilities Management Service Provider for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to be based at a prestigious commercial office building in Charing Cross, London. The successful candidate will have a mechanical/plumbing bias, holding a relevant NVQ or City & Guilds qualification, and will bring a proven track record in commercial building maintenance.

Working as part of a collaborative on-site maintenance team of 2 Engineers, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive mechanical, electrical, and fabric maintenance across the building. In return, the client offers a competitive salary of up to £43,000, alongside strong opportunities for further training and career development.

Key Responsibilities

• Pumps, motors, seals, and bearings – maintenance and repair
• Emergency lighting – testing and maintenance
• Air conditioning – servicing of Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs), including filter changes and cleaning
• Water treatment – temperature monitoring and compliance checks
• Plumbing – reactive works including unblocking toilets, replacing taps, and general plumbing repairs
• BMS – monitoring and basic operation (hot and cold water systems, LTHW, DHWS, CHW)

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00

Requirements
