Job summary

Applied Automation (UK) Ltd is seeking a mechanical assembler to build sub-assemblies and control panels for the Marine & Build to Print Division in Plymouth. You will mount components, interpret mechanical drawings, and use hand tools to fabricate and assemble parts for UK and Worldwide markets.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical assembly experience preferred but not essential.
  • Good communication skills to explain differences within issued drawings.
  • High attention to detail with a quality over quantity mindset.
  • Confident with using various hand tools such as drills and torque tools.
  • Strong understanding of reading mechanical blueprints and layout drawings.
  • Strong understanding of industrial workshop practices.

Responsibilities

  • Build robust mechanical sub-assemblies against various drawings.
  • Mount internal components and hardware to control panels.
  • Read, interpret and work from mechanical drawings.
  • Safely operate various manual hand and power tools.
  • Manage workload to meet time sensitive production targets.
  • Flag material shortages or drawing queries immediately.
  • Maintain clean and tidy work areas following health and safety policies.
