Job summary

Applied Automation in Plymouth seeks a hands-on technician to build mechanical sub-assemblies and control panels for the Marine & Build to Print Division. You will read drawings, mount components and use hand tools to assemble control systems for the UK and worldwide markets.

You will work safely in an industrial workshop, maintain clean areas, and support production targets while communicating draw variations and material needs. A strong attention to detail and quality mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with building mechanical sub-assemblies and mounting components.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Build mechanical sub-assemblies against drawings.
• Mount internal components and hardware to control panels.
• Read, interpret and work from mechanical drawings.
• Safely operate manual hand and power tools.
• Manage workload to meet time sensitive production targets.
• Flag material shortages or drawing queries promptly.
• Maintain clean and tidy work areas following health and safety policies.
