Job summary

Applied Automation (UK) Ltd is seeking a mechanical assembler to build sub-assemblies and control panels for the Marine & Build to Print Division in Plymouth. You will mount components, interpret mechanical drawings, and use hand tools to fabricate and assemble parts for UK and Worldwide markets.

The role emphasizes reading blueprints, maintaining high quality, and working in an industrial workshop environment with safety practices in place.

Qualifications

• Mechanical assembly experience preferred but not essential.
• Good communication skills to explain differences within issued drawings.
• High attention to detail with a quality over quantity mindset.
• Confident with using various hand tools such as drills and torque tools.
• Strong understanding of reading mechanical blueprints and layout drawings.
• Strong understanding of industrial workshop practices.

Purpose of the Role

The individual will be tasked with building mechanical sub-assemblies and control boxes and control systems according to drawings and specification. The role will require fabrication, mechanical fastening and component mounting for the UK and Worldwide marketplace.

• Build robust mechanical sub-assemblies against various drawings
• Mount internal components and hardware to control panels
• Read, interpret and work from mechanical drawings
• Safely operate various manual hand and power tools
• Manage workload to meet time sensitive production targets
