Job summary

VANRATH are recruiting a Mechanical Site Supervisor to join a leading M&E contractor based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The role requires overseeing on-site works, coordinating labour, and ensuring quality installations while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Projects are primarily in Northern Ireland with occasional work in ROI or GB; willingness to travel is required. Competitive salary of £45k–£50k plus DOE and package is on offer.

Qualifications

• Must have a plumbing / heating trade background.
• Demonstrable health and safety knowledge.
• PC literate with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Show care and attention to detail in installations.
• Organised and disciplined in planning and approach to work.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ approach to work and willingness to learn and assist.
• Work well and confidently as part of a team in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Responsible for the control of labour and their coordination with other trades on-site.
• Procurement of general day-to-day materials.
• Procurement and management of hire equipment on-site.
• Ensure all installations are of the highest quality.
• Ensuring the installation complies with the latest relevant regulations.
• Meeting with clients, main contractors, and subcontractors regularly.
• Preparation of short-term lookahead programmes and inputting into the overall master programme.
• Provide regular reports on progress and performance to the Contracts Manager.
• Carry out site based Health, Safety and Quality inspections.

The Opportunity: Due to continued growth and expansion, the business has an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Site Supervisor to join them on a permanent basis. Many projects are located in Northern Ireland, however, sometimes projects are in ROI or GB so the successful person will need to be willing to travel when required.
