Job summary

TLG Infrastructure Limited is recruiting a Mechanical Site Manager for a pharmaceutical project in Surrey. You will lead day-to-day mechanical works on site, overseeing HVAC, pipework and plant installations while managing subcontractors and safety on a technically demanding build.

The role covers installation through testing, commissioning and handover, with RAMS review and QA documentation. A strong M&E background and relevant qualification are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager within M&E / Building Services.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services installations.
• Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and site teams.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, pipework and plant installations.
• Pharmaceutical, life sciences, laboratory or similarly technical project experience would be highly advantageous.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Strong Health & Safety knowledge.
• Good understanding of QA, testing and commissioning.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Relevant Mechanical / Building Services qualification.
• SMSTS or equivalent.
• CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of mechanical works on site.
• Manage Mechanical Supervisors, site labour and specialist subcontractors.
• Oversee HVAC, pipework, plant and associated mechanical installations.
• Coordinate daily and weekly site activities.
• Monitor progress against programme and key project milestones.
• Ensure subcontractors are working to approved drawings and specifications.
• Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
• Carry out site inspections and maintain high standards of Health & Safety.
• Coordinate mechanical installations with electrical and other trades.
• Monitor installation quality and manage QA documentation.
• Identify and report potential programme or technical issues.
• Attend site coordination and progress meetings.
• Manage materials, deliveries and site logistics relating to the mechanical works.
• Oversee snagging and close-out activities.
• Support testing and commissioning.
• Drive the mechanical installation through to successful handover.

The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of an established M&E contractor looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Site Manager for a pharmaceutical project in Surrey.

The Role

As Mechanical Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of mechanical works on site, with a strong focus on installation, subcontractor management, Health & Safety, quality and programme.

You will oversee the mechanical installation through to testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.
