Job summary

TLG Infrastructure Limited is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to lead the electrical package on a high-spec pharmaceutical project in Surrey. You will oversee installation, testing, commissioning and handover, coordinating with client, consultants and subcontractors to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong M&E/building services knowledge, experience with complex projects, and proficiency in submittals, QA, and procurement. A 9-month contract with Outside IR35 terms.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager within the M&E / Building Services sector.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services installations.
• Pharmaceutical, life sciences, laboratory or other technically complex project experience is advantageous.
• Experience managing electrical subcontractors and site teams.
• Strong understanding of electrical design and coordination.
• Experience managing technical submittals and RFIs.
• Good knowledge of QA, testing and commissioning.
• Ability to manage programme, procurement and project delivery.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant Electrical / Building Services qualification.
• SMSTS or equivalent preferred.

• Manage Electrical Site Managers, Supervisors and specialist subcontractors
• Oversee electrical installations including power, lighting, containment and associated systems
• Manage project programmes, short-term planning and key milestones
• Review electrical drawings, specifications and technical information
• Manage technical submittals, RFIs and design coordination
• Coordinate electrical services with mechanical and other specialist packages
• Manage procurement of electrical equipment and materials
• Monitor progress against programme and identify potential risks or delays
• Attend client, consultant, design and subcontractor meetings
• Ensure electrical installations meet project specifications and quality requirements
• Manage QA documentation and project records
• Work closely with the commercial team regarding variations and project costs
• Oversee testing and commissioning activities
• Manage snagging, close-out documentation and final handover
• Ensure all electrical works are delivered safely and in accordance with project requirements

The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of an established M&E contractor looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Project Manager for a technically demanding pharmaceutical project in Surrey.

This is a 9-month contract opportunity paying £325-£375 per day Outside IR35, offering the chance to take ownership of the electrical package on a high-specification building services project.

The successful candidate will manage the electrical works through installation, testing, commissioning and final handover, working closely with the client, consultants, specialist subcontractors and wider MEP team.

The Role

As Electrical Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the electrical package.

You will oversee site teams and specialist subcontractors while managing technical coordination, programme, procurement, quality and commissioning.

Given the nature of the project, particular emphasis will be placed on quality, technical compliance, documentation and successful commissioning.
