Job summary

TLG Infrastructure Limited is recruiting a Mechanical Project Manager for a pharmaceutical project in Surrey. You will lead the mechanical package from delivery through installation, commissioning and handover, working with the client, consultants and subcontractors.

The role focuses on technical coordination, quality, programme and commissioning in a highly regulated environment. This is a 9-month contract paying £400 per day Outside IR35.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within M&E / Building Services.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services.
• Pharmaceutical, life sciences, laboratory or similarly technical project experience advantageous.
• Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and site teams.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, pipework and plant installations.
• Experience with technical submittals, RFIs and design coordination.
• Good understanding of QA, commissioning and project handover.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Relevant Mechanical / Building Services qualification.
• SMSTS or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the delivery of the mechanical package.
• Manage Mechanical Site Managers, Supervisors and specialist subcontractors.
• Oversee HVAC, pipework, plant and associated mechanical services.
• Manage project programmes, short-term planning and key milestones.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Manage technical submittals, RFIs and design coordination.
• Coordinate mechanical services with electrical and other specialist packages.
• Manage procurement of plant, equipment and materials.
• Attend client, consultant and subcontractor meetings.
• Monitor installation quality and ensure works meet project specifications.
• Manage QA documentation and project records.
• Work closely with the commercial team on variations and project costs.
• Oversee testing and commissioning activities.
• Manage snagging, close-out documentation and handover.
• Ensure all works are delivered safely and in accordance with project requirements

The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of an established M&E contractor looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager for a pharmaceutical project in Surrey.

This is a 9-month contract paying £400 per day Outside IR35 and represents an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Project Manager with experience delivering technically demanding building services projects.

You will take responsibility for the mechanical package, managing the works from project delivery through installation, commissioning and final handover.

The Role

As Mechanical Project Manager, you will manage the day-to-day delivery of the mechanical services, working closely with the client, consultants, specialist subcontractors and wider MEP team.

The role will have a strong focus on technical coordination, quality, programme and commissioning due to the nature of the pharmaceutical environment.
