Job summary

John G. Mackintosh Limited is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead mechanical engineering and construction projects from planning through to handover.

You will coordinate clients, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery. The role requires robust planning, budgeting, and communication skills, with hands-on experience in mechanical building services, commissioning and risk management.

Qualifications

• Relevant mechanical, engineering or building services qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• SMSTS or equivalent.
• HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical projects from planning and mobilisation through to completion and handover.
• Plan and coordinate labour, subcontractors, materials and project resources.
• Monitor project programmes, progress, budgets and key deliverables.
• Coordinate mechanical installation, testing and commissioning activities.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, site teams and other contractors.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier performance.
• Monitor project costs, variations and changes.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and potential delays.
• Attend and contribute to project and client meetings.
• Ensure works comply with relevant mechanical and building services standards, specifications and regulations.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with company health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
• Manage commissioning, snagging and final project handover.
