Job summary

John G Mackintosh in Edinburgh is seeking an experienced M&E Design Manager to lead the mechanical and electrical design across major schemes. You will ensure fully coordinated, technically compliant designs are delivered on programme and to client expectations.

Working with the Pre-Construction, Design and Delivery teams, you will manage design from tender through to completion, coordinating with consultants and subcontractors, with regular travel to project sites and meetings.

Qualifications

• Experience managing M&E design from tender to handover.
• Strong coordination with consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites regularly.

Responsibilities

• Manage M&E design process during pre-construction and delivery.
• Coordinate design information between consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Review drawings and specifications for buildability and compliance.
• Lead design coordination meetings with clients and consultants.
• Support site teams to resolve design issues during construction.
• Monitor design programmes and manage risks.
