Job summary

Adapt Recruitment is recruiting a Mechanical Project Engineer on behalf of a client delivering mechanical installation projects across the UK Water & Wastewater sector. You will own projects from design coordination through installation, commissioning and handover on major infrastructure schemes.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, liaising with clients and suppliers, producing RAMS and programmes, and ensuring safety and budget compliance.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience delivering mechanical projects within the UK Water or Wastewater industry.
  • Knowledge of mechanical pipework, pumping systems and process equipment.
  • Strong understanding of CDM regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially aware with excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS Card, First Aid, NEC contract knowledge or AutoCAD experience would be advantageous.

  • Monitoring project costs, variations and commercial performance.
  • Attending client and site meetings, providing technical support where required.
  • Supporting commissioning, testing and final project handover.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures and water industry standards.
  • Maintaining accurate project records and progress reports.

Job description

Working on behalf of our client, we are recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a specialist engineering contractor delivering mechanical installation projects across the UK Water & Wastewater sector. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from design coordination through to installation, commissioning and handover, working on major UK infrastructure projects.
