Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Project Design Engineer - Mechanical to manage the design of water and wastewater projects from outline through detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover. You will work within a multi-disciplinary project team on-site, in office, and remotely.

The role offers chartership support, flexible benefits, and opportunities to mentor colleagues while developing cross-discipline expertise. Accredited degree and CDM knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Accredited Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Incorporated Member of the Engineering Institution.
• Outline and detailed design experience in water or wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of Designer/Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

• Work within a project triangle with Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to balance technical, constructability and commercial aspects.
• Lead design of treatment or infrastructure projects from outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate civil, electrical, mechanical and process designers, BIM modelers and specialists to meet programme and budget.
• Undertake design in own discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues.
• Build positive relationships with client teams and promote a one-team approach.
