Job summary

Anglian Water is seeking a Wastewater Maintenance Technician in Haverhill to carry out general repairs, investigate faults and complete scheduled maintenance to ensure reliability of our assets, including water treatment equipment. This role directly protects the environment and communities.

You will work with a collaborative team, bring mechanical knowledge of pumps, gearboxes and control systems, and hold NVQ level 2 or 3 (mechanical/engineering) with a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ Level 2 or 3 (Mechanical/Engineering) or equivalent, and a full UK driving licence.
• Permanent full-time role with flexibility for part-time; 37 hours, 5 days including some weekends.
• Location: Haverhill and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and rectification of faults.
• Complete scheduled maintenance to ensure asset reliability (water recycling assets and related equipment).
• Work with mechanical control and telemetry systems; maintenance of pumps and gearboxes.

Job description

Starting Basic salary (plus standby & overtime payments): £39,520 for candidates with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent in Mechanical/Engineering Subject)
£35,360 for candidates with NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent in Mechanical/Engineering Subject)

Clear progression opportunities to earn up to £47,840 Basic with further training and experience

All PPE, tools, and fuel card provided

Permanent Full-time, with flexibility for part-time, 37 hours, 5-day working pattern including some weekends.

With support from a collaborative team, your mechanical knowledge will enable you to be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of water recycling assets – including equipment installed at water treatment works, as well as carrying out planned & reactive maintenance on our mechanical assets Experience working with mechanical control systems, telemetry systems, pumps, gearboxes and general mechanical/electrical plant maintenance would also be advantageous. This role is vital and will have a direct impact on the environment and communities that we serve.

What does it take to be a Wastewater Maintenance Technician?

To be successful in this role, you must have obtained at least an NVQ level 2 or 3 (mechanical/engineering) qualification (or equivalent) and/or completed a relevant apprenticeship and hold a full UK driving licence
