Job summary

Anglian Water Group in England is hiring a Wastewater Maintenance Technician in Haverhill to maintain water recycling assets. The role involves general repairs, fault investigation, and scheduled maintenance to ensure asset reliability, with emphasis on mechanical and electrical plant upkeep.

You’ll work 37 hours across a 5-day pattern, including occasional weekends, with full-time permanency and potential part-time flexibility.

Qualifications

• Must have achieved at least an NVQ level 2 or 3 (mechanical/engineering) qualification (or an equivalent apprenticeship).
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and fault investigation across wastewater assets.
• Rectify faults and complete scheduled maintenance to ensure asset reliability.
• Maintain water recycling assets including mechanical/electrical plant maintenance.

Job description

Starting Basic salary (plus standby & overtime payments): £39,520 for candidates with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent in Mechanical/Engineering Subject)

£35,360 for candidates with NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent in Mechanical/Engineering Subject)

Clear progression opportunities to earn up to £47,840 Basic with further training and experience

All PPE, tools, and fuel card provided

Permanent Full-time, with flexibility for part-time, 37 hours, 5-day working pattern including some weekends.

Get ready to make a difference and join us as a maintenance technician, responsible for carrying out general repairs, investigating and rectifying faults and completing scheduled maintenance to ensure the reliability of our assets. This role is not just about doing a job, it has a real purpose; it's about protecting our environment.

With support from a collaborative team, your mechanical knowledge will enable you to be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of water recycling assets - including equipment installed at water treatment works, as well as carrying out planned & reactive maintenance on our mechanical assets Experience working with mechanical control systems, telemetry systems, pumps, gearboxes and general mechanical/electrical plant maintenance would also be advantageous. This role is vital and will have a direct impact on the environment and communities that we serve.

What does it take to be a Wastewater Maintenance Technician?

To be successful in this role, you must have obtained at least an NVQ level 2 or 3 (mechanical/engineering) qualification (or equivalent) and/or completed a relevant apprenticeship and hold a full UK driving licence
