Job summary

Talk Staff Group Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter in Burton upon Trent. The role is a 40-hour week, 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday, with a basic salary of £47,050 per year.

You will maintain tyre building and rubber processing machinery, read complex schematics and perform repairs using welding and machining. The ideal candidate is a time-served Mechanical Fitter with NVQ Level 3, strong hydraulic/pneumatic knowledge, and a willingness to undertake training including IPAF and FLT

Qualifications

• Time served Mechanical Fitter with the appropriate Technical qualification (NVQ Level 3).
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic principles and ability to read and understand schematic drawings.
• Competent in mechanical repairs including manual machining, bench fitting, welding and fabrication.
• Desirable IPAF 3a/3b and counterbalance FLT licenses.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of tyre building and rubber processing machinery and supporting services.
• Diagnose faults in mechanical systems, equipment and components.
• Perform routine maintenance, lubrication schedules and safety checks.
• Assist electrical and mechanical team members to complete maintenance work.
• Carry out welding (MIG/MMA/TIG) and fabrication, plus manual machining as required.
• Operate lifting equipment safely and comply with safety norms.
• Follow SOPs and participate in training and development.
