Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd in the Greater Morecambe area is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a heavy industrial manufacturing team. The role involves maintenance of large production machinery, fault finding and hands-on repairs, with opportunities in fabrication, welding and bench fitting.

You will work on hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems, support equipment start-ups and plant improvements, and contribute to improvements in a stable, well-established environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ or equivalent).
• Mechanical fitting or maintenance experience.
• Hands-on bench work experience.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication and welding tasks across large-scale machinery.
• Mechanical fault finding and repairs.
• Planned and reactive maintenance of hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems.

Job Role of the Mechanical Fitter

A well-established industrial manufacturer in the Greater Morecambe area is looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join its engineering team. This is a varied, hands-on role working across large-scale production machinery and auxiliary plant, carrying out mechanical maintenance, fault finding and workshop-based repairs. You'll be involved in fabrication, welding and bench fitting, alongside maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems. The role also offers opportunities to support equipment start-ups and plant improvements, making it ideal for a mechanically skilled engineer who enjoys practical, varied engineering work.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Mechanical Fitter

• Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ or equivalent).
• Mechanical fitting or maintenance experience.
• Hands-on bench work experience.

Requirements of the Mechanical Fitter
