Energy Jobline ZR in York is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a packaging manufacturer. The role is Monday to Friday days with a £50,000 per annum salary, offering a stable work-life balance and no rotating shifts.

You will perform planned preventative maintenance on production machinery, respond quickly to breakdowns, and contribute to continuous improvement projects, recording activity in the CMMS and collaborating with production teams to maximise plant performance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing.
• A strong mechanical maintenance background.
• Experience working with conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Mechanical engineering qualifications (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Basic electrical fault-finding skills would be advantageous.
• A proactive approach with excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on production machinery.
• Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, motors, pumps and pneumatic systems.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability projects.
• Record maintenance activities using the CMMS system.
• Work closely with production to maximise plant performance.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.

We're recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a successful packaging manufacturer based in York. The Role Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining a wide range of production machinery through planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support. You'll also be involved in continuous improvement projects, helping to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime across the site.
