Job summary

Madoc Recruitment Limited is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a global manufacturer in the UK. The role involves owning maintenance tasks, diagnosing breakdowns, and driving continuous improvement across packaging lines, conveyors, drives, and pumps.

The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, time-served apprenticeship, and pass a robust manufacturing background. On-site role with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3) and manufacturing experience.
• Essential: experience in a manufacturing environment and safe working procedures.
• Familiar with pneumatic and hydraulic control systems; PLC fault-finding desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Be the first point of contact for breakdowns and diagnose issues to minimise downtime.
• Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste.
• Collaborate with maintenance team members to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.
• Liaise with Engineering Team Manager for workload planning and technical support.

Our client, a global manufacturer who is renowned for its well-known household brands, is currently on the look-out for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team. Job details:

• Ensure that preventative and reactive maintenance duties are carried out across the site.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Engineering skills obtained by a time served apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3)
• Previous experience within a Manufacturing environment (Essential).
• Familiar with pneumatically and hydraulically controlled systems.
• Strong fault-finding capabilities.
• PLC fault-finding experience (desirable).
• Familiar with packaging lines, drives, conveyors, rotating machinery, pumping equipment and valves.
• Competent in safe working procedures.

• Shift: Monday to Friday 7:00am - 15:30pm
• Salary: £43,630 (annual pay review)
• Overtime available at time and a half
