Brazen Search is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) in York to join a packaging manufacturer on a Monday to Friday days pattern. The role focuses on maintenance of production machinery through planned preventive work and rapid breakdown support, with involvement in continuous improvement to boost equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with production to optimise plant performance while ensuring safe working

Qualifikationen

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical maintenance background.
• Experience with conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics.

Aufgaben

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery.
• Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, motors, pumps and pneumatic systems.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability projects.
• Record maintenance activities using the CMMS system.
• Work closely with production to maximise plant performance.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining a wide range of production machinery through planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support.

You'll also be involved in continuous improvement projects, helping to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery.
• Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, motors, pumps and pneumatic systems.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability projects.
• Record maintenance activities using the CMMS system.
• Work closely with production to maximise plant performance.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.

About You

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing.
• A strong mechanical maintenance background.
• Experience working with conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Mechanical engineering qualifications (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Basic electrical fault-finding skills would be advantageous.
• A proactive approach with excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
