Job summary

Carr's Billington Agriculture invites applications for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support the Lancaster Mill. The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and repairs to keep the plant running safely and efficiently.

You will work within an engineering team, adhere to UFAS and other assurance schemes, and participate in on-call duties and scheduled shutdowns as required.

Qualifications

• Engineering experience within a bulk handling production environment.
• Responds positively to changing business priorities, and able to remain calm when under pressure.
• Have a proactive can-do attitude.
• Have a working knowledge of standard H&S practices (hot works, WAH, LOTO etc)
• Strong communications skills
• Strong problem solving techniques, through innovative, logical and structured thinking.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out maintenance activities as part of a team in a bulk handling mill, with planned and reactive work including fault finding, PPMs and repairs.
• Ensure safety, quality and hygiene standards are upheld across the site and comply with UFAS and other assurance schemes.
• Operate under the Permit to Work system, planning and executing maintenance with safety as priority.
• Respond promptly to reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and disruption.
• Maintain plant and spares to prevent production interruptions and support planned shutdowns.
