Job summary

Carr’s Billington Agriculture in Lancaster Mill is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support the site with maintenance across bulk handling processes. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs, ensuring safety, quality and hygiene standards are met.

The role involves working with the engineering team and engaging with stakeholders to keep production running. The successful candidate will have engineering qualifications, experience in bulk handling

Qualifications

Engineering qualification to NVQ level 3 or City and Guilds in Engineering.
Experience in bulk handling/production environments.
Working knowledge of H&S practices (hot works, WAH, LOTO).

Responsibilities

Carry out maintenance activities as part of the engineering team.
Planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, PMs and repairs.
Engage with stakeholders to keep the plant running while meeting safety and environmental requirements.
Adhere to UFAS and other assurance schemes.
Operate under the Permit to Work system and prioritise safety.
Minimise downtime through fault diagnosis and timely repairs.
Support maintenance planning and upcoming shutdowns.
