Job summary

Marshalls plc is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to maintain production uptime at Pollington, Goole. You will fault-find and service equipment, read technical drawings, and contribute to a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.

The role requires a strong electrical background with mechanical experience, experience in PLC fault finding, and familiarity with robotics and automated plant systems. Monday–Friday with flexible hours and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• A strong electrical working knowledge with some mechanical experience.
• Qualified, time served in a similar position, ideally NVQ 3 or equivalent.
• Apprentice trained and familiar with the 18th edition wiring regulations.
• PLC fault finding skills and experience with robotics/automation are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous running of the production process by fault finding and maintenance of equipment.
• Perform reactive and planned maintenance on electrical systems controlling hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors.
• Read and interpret technical drawings to support maintenance activities.

It’s within this skilled team at Marshalls that we’re recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer. Working as part of the team, your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating engineering downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment reactive engineering activities on site. What are the mission critical skills?

• A strong electrical working knowledge with some mechanical experience
• The ideal applicant will be a qualified, time served in a similar position ideally at NVQ 3 level
• Ideally apprentice trained and qualified to the 18th edition wiring regulations
• PLC fault finding skills would be a distinct advantage
• Working knowledge of robots and automated process plant & machinery
• Experience in mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication and general machining would be an advantage
• Experienced in reactive and planned maintenance of electrical systems controlling hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors (belts, chain, rollers, bearings, gear boxes, motors etc.), and able to read technical drawings
