PRS is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a modern, high-spec commercial office site in Croydon. The role covers planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance across the site, ensuring FCUs and building services operate safely and reliably.

You will need a recognised City & Guilds mechanical qualification, proven maintenance experience in a commercial environment, and strong diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and building services.
• Hands-on experience with FCUs and associated components.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a modern commercial office environment.
• Service, maintain and repair FCUs and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults involving valves, actuators, motors and other mechanical components.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Respond to reactive maintenance issues and minimise equipment downtime.
• Ensure mechanical and HVAC systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete relevant documentation.
• Work collaboratively with the wider engineering and facilities team.
• Participate in the site call-out rota when required.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Croydon

Salary: £44,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our client’s team at a modern, high-spec commercial office site in Croydon.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong mechanical and HVAC experience who takes pride in delivering high-quality maintenance and keeping building services operating safely, efficiently and reliably.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a modern commercial office environment
• Service, maintain and repair Fan Coil Units (FCUs) and associated equipment
• Diagnose and repair faults involving valves, actuators, motors and other mechanical components
• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Respond to reactive maintenance issues and minimise equipment downtime
• Ensure mechanical and HVAC systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete relevant documentation
• Work collaboratively with the wider engineering and facilities team
• Participate in the site call-out rota when required

You will ideally have:

• A recognised City & Guilds mechanical qualification or equivalent
• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a commercial environment
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and building services
• Hands-on experience with FCUs and associated components
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• A proactive approach to problem-solving
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A professional approach with a strong focus on health, safety and quality
