Job summary

PRS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work on an ongoing temporary contract within a commercial building services environment in Reading. The role covers PPM and reactive maintenance across mechanical and plumbing systems to ensure safe, efficient operation.

Key responsibilities include servicing boilers, chillers, pumps and FCUs, with routine inspections and site liaison to resolve issues promptly.

Qualifications

Experience as Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or in building services.
Strong mechanical maintenance and plumbing experience in a commercial environment.
Good knowledge of HVAC systems and building services equipment.
Experience performing both PPM and reactive maintenance.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across mechanical building services.
Maintain and repair boilers, chillers, pumps, FCUs and air conditioning systems.
Undertake general plumbing repairs including pipework, water supply, leaks and drainage.
Diagnose faults and repair across mechanical and HVAC systems.
Complete routine inspections and identify issues before they become major faults.
Maintain maintenance records and complete service reports.
Liaise with site teams and contractors to resolve issues efficiently.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety requirements.
