Job summary

PRS Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for an ongoing temporary contract in a commercial building services environment in Reading. You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems, ensuring reliability and safety.

The role covers boilers, chillers, pumps, FCUs and HVAC equipment, with general plumbing tasks and thorough fault finding. You will maintain records, liaise with site teams and contractors, and work Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role in a commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building services equipment.
• Experience with both PPM and reactive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across mechanical building services.
• Maintain and repair boilers, chillers, pumps, fan coil units (FCUs) and air conditioning systems.
• Undertake general plumbing repairs, including pipework, water supply systems, leaks and drainage.
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs across mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Complete routine inspections and identify potential issues before they develop into major faults.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete service reports.
• Liaise with site teams and contractors to ensure maintenance issues are resolved efficiently.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements.
