Job summary

HRGO Recruitment is seeking a Shift Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in Clacton-On-Sea, Essex. You will perform a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.

The role offers a 12-hour shift pattern (4 on 4 off, days/nights), with working hours 7 AM–7 PM and 7 PM–7 AM. Salary is £42,600 per annum with excellent benefits including a non-contributory pension.

Qualifications

• Time-served or formally qualified in Mechanical Engineering (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent).
• Knowledge of hydraulics/pneumatics.
• Electrical fault-finding (18th Edition) is beneficial.
• Experience with PLC/HMI fault finding (Allen Bradley, Siemens S7) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
• Respond to breakdowns and carry out planned maintenance.
• Own and maintain plant equipment (compressors, water treatment and cooling systems).
• Assist in design and implementation of machinery modifications.
