Job summary

Pertemps Northampton is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a permanent role at a site in Low Marnham, NG23. You will join a skilled team to maintain plant, equipment, and infrastructure in line with HSE standards.

The role requires apprentice-trained mechanics and flexibility to work 12-hour shifts on a 4 on/4 off pattern. Key responsibilities include deploying planned maintenance, improving manufacturing methods, and driving energy efficiency while supporting production demands.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background with hands-on experience.
• Understanding of Health and Safety legislation and responsibilities.
• Manufacturing/Process experience with evidence of PPM delivery and control.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Work with production to maximise utilisation of site assets.
• Maintain site equipment and plant for optimal performance.
• Assist with development of new manufacturing methods and continuous improvement.
• Drive energy and utility cost savings while meeting production demands.
• Ensure work complies with Standard Operating Procedures and CMMS (Holistech).
