Job summary

Nub News is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for a permanent role based at our Low Marnham site (NG23). You will join a skilled team responsible for maintaining plant, equipment, buildings and infrastructure in line with health, safety and environmental standards.

The role requires hands-on mechanical experience and an apprentice background to at least Level 2, with a proactive mindset to improve methods, energy use and cost efficiency. 4 on 4 off shift pattern, days/nights, 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering background with hands-on experience.
• Understanding of Health and Safety legislation and responsibilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly motivated and willing to support others.
• Manufacturing / Process experience with evidence of PPM delivery and control.
• Ability to demonstrate fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with production to maximise utilisation of site assets.
• Maintain maximum effectiveness and benefit from existing site equipment.
• Assist with development of new manufacturing methods and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Proactively drive improvement and cost savings of energy and utilities whilst meeting varying demands from production.
• Cross-functional collaboration to deliver continuous improvement.
• Ensure all work complies with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Conduct planned maintenance of plant per the CMMS system (Holistech).
• Complete all relevant statutory documentation.
