Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd in the United Kingdom (St Helens) is seeking a maintenance engineer with a strong mechanical bias to attend breakdowns, fault-find and service machinery within an electrically biased team. You will perform preventative and routine maintenance on conveyors, pumps, furnaces, vacuum systems and compressed air, aiming to minimise downtime and improve reliability.

This role offers hands-on engineering on a busy site with opportunities to contribute to CI projects and automation

Qualifications

• The role requires a strong mechanical bias maintenance engineer to attend breakdowns, fault find and service machinery.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out preventative maintenance to keep equipment safe and clean.
• Carry out routine and emergency maintenance on conveyors, sensors/switches, pumps, furnaces/ovens, vacuum systems & compressed air systems.
• Equipment downtime must be kept to an absolute minimum through timely fault diagnosis and rectification.
• Maintain engineering stock control, complete regular audits, ensure tools and consumables are well maintained, stored and clean.
• Health and Safety will be the highest priority at all times while ensuring site equipment complies with HSE regulations.
• Deliver KPI targets set within the Engineering department.
• Work within a team of Maintenance Engineers to complete tasks within automation.
• Involvement in CI & project work.

The current team are all electrically biased- so this role requires a strong mechanical bias maintenance engineer to attend breakdowns, fault find and service machinery,

Main duties include:

• Effectively planning and carrying out preventative maintenance procedures within the framework, ensuring all equipment is safe to run and is cleaned to the highest possible standard. Preventative maintenance is the main driver for with role.
• Carry out routine/emergency maintenance on conveyors, sensors/switches, pumps, furnaces/ovens, vacuum systems & compressed air systems.
• Equipment downtime must be kept to an absolute minimum through timely and thoughtful fault diagnosis and rectification.
• Maintain engineering stock control completing regular audits, ensure all engineering tools and consumables are well maintained, adequately supplied, stored appropriately and kept clean to the highest of engineering standards.
• Health and Safety will be your highest priority at all times whilst ensuring all site equipment is compliant with all HSE regulations.
• You will be responsible for delivering KPI targets set within the Engineering department.
• Working within a team of Maintenance Engineers to complete tasks within automation.
