Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is seeking a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing client in Newton-le-Willows on a 3-month FTC. You will manage planned and reactive maintenance across heavy machinery, with focus on mechanical fault finding, breakdown repairs, hydraulics and pneumatics.

The role involves supporting upgrades, installations and continuous improvement projects to boost reliability and minimise downtime.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical fault-finding and breakdown repair skills.
• Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Engineering qualification in a mechanical discipline.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Newton-le-Willows

Salary: £30 – £35 per hour

I’m working with a growing manufacturer looking to recruit a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

You’ll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across heavy manufacturing machinery, focusing on mechanical fault finding, breakdowns, repairs, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings and conveyors.

You’ll also support machinery upgrades, installations and continuous improvement projects to improve reliability and minimise downtime.
