Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is seeking a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer for a 3-month FTC in Newton-le-Willows. You will join an engineering team responsible for maintenance on heavy manufacturing equipment, carrying out planned and reactive work, with a focus on reliability and uptime.

The role covers hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings and conveyors, and involves upgrades, installations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial, manufacturing or processing environment.
• Mechanical fault-finding and breakdown repair skills.
• Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Engineering qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across heavy manufacturing machinery.

Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Newton-le-Willows

Salary: £30 - £35 per hour

Shift: Days

I'm working with a growing manufacturer looking to recruit a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

You’ll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across heavy manufacturing machinery, focusing on mechanical fault finding, breakdowns, repairs, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings and conveyors.

You’ll also support machinery upgrades, installations and continuous improvement projects to improve reliability and minimise downtime.
