Job summary

SRG is seeking a proactive Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a successful team near Leeds, West Yorkshire. Reporting to the Engineering Leader, your role will focus on ensuring equipment reliability and maintaining safety standards in a dynamic environment.

This position offers extensive training opportunities and a chance to build valuable skills. Responsibilities include conducting routine inspections, responding to breakdowns, and collaborating with team members to ensure a seamless operation.

Qualifications

• Experience working with various maintenance machinery including pumps and gearboxes.
• Ability to respond promptly to critical breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Strong understanding of safety and compliance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and deliver effective PPM activities.
• Respond promptly to time‑critical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, following site safety procedures.
• Accurately log activities, faults, and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with Operations and contractors to resolve issues efficiently.

About the Role

SRG are seeking a proactive Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a successful and growing client based near Leeds, West Yorkshire. Reporting to the Engineering Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, supporting production uptime and maintaining a safe working environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to build their skillset, with extensive training and development available.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and deliver effective PPM activities
• Respond promptly to time‑critical breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, following permit-to-work, compliance and site safety procedures
• Accurately log activities, faults, and maintenance tasks, ensuring smooth shift handovers
• Collaborate closely with Operations teams and external contractors to resolve issues efficiently.

Criteria

• Experience working with pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics, steam systems, filling machinery.
