Job summary

Omega Resource Group is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a rotating shift pattern in the Doncaster area. The role offers a Monday to Friday pattern with 8-hour shifts and weekend overtime, with a pay range of £49,500 plus package and a 5% bonus (OTE £55K+).

You will maintain production equipment, work with conveyors and packaging systems, and contribute to continuous improvement and loss reduction on a large FMCG site.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline in maintenance engineering.
• Manufacturing Industry experience in heavy, medium or FMCG environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production.
• Ensure continuous running of production by fault-finding and maintaining process/packaging equipment.
• Planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Work with conveyors, hoppers, and materials handling equipment.
• Lead mechanical repairs and work with a CMMS.
• Diagnose, resolve and eliminate root causes.
• Implement minor equipment modifications to boost performance.
• Complete scheduled and corrective maintenance as allocated.
• Plan and implement annual equipment overhauls.

Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Rotating shifts

Location: Doncaster area, good A1 AND M18 access

Do you want to come off shifts involving 12 hours? Work a Monday to Friday pattern?

This is an 8-hour rotating pattern offering weekend overtime.

Pay Range: £49,500 plus Package Plus 5% Bonus OTE £55K+

Key Responsibilities

• Your new challenge will be providing effective and efficient planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production
• Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe approach to fault-finding and maintenance of process and packaging equipment
• Planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum
• You'll work with conveyor systems, hoppers, solos, conveyors and materials handling
• Leading mechanical repair and working with a CMMS
• Diagnosis, resolution, and elimination of root causes
• Implementation of minor equipment modifications in support of increased performance
• Completion of all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and maintenance as allocated
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls

Qualifications & Requirements

• Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline in maintenance engineering
• Manufacturing Industry experience, heavy, medium or FMCG environments considered
• Routine Preventive Maintenance, so as to have an understanding of a PPM schedule
• Finding and fixing faults quickly and effectively
• Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous
• A proactive approach to fault finding, a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
