Job summary

VanRath is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter for a busy manufacturing site on a rotating night shift. The role focuses on keeping production equipment safe, reliable and efficient through fault finding, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical fault-finding skills, experience with both preventative and reactive maintenance, and a proactive approach to problem solving within a team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a mechanical maintenance role within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience carrying out both preventative and breakdown maintenance.
• Experience with machinery set-up, tooling or process optimisation would be advantageous.
• A strong focus on health & safety and quality.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a wider engineering and production team.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

£53,000 per annum | Rotating Night Shift

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join a busy manufacturing environment on a rotating night shift. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically skilled maintenance professional looking for a strong salary package, excellent benefits and a structured shift pattern.

The Role

Working as part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring production equipment remains safe, reliable and operating efficiently, while supporting the wider production team with fault finding, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out mechanical fault diagnosis and repairs.
• Completing planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Supporting product tool changes and machine set-up.
• Process setting and product quality optimisation.

Shift Pattern

This position operates on a rotating night shift, averaging 42.35 hours per week with 3 x 20-minute paid breaks.

Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 7pm - 7am

Week 2: Monday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday 7pm - 7am
