Interaction Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a busy manufacturing site in Kettering. The role focuses on fault finding, breakdown response, planned maintenance and continuous improvement to maximize machine uptime and reliability.

You will work with production teams and external suppliers, supporting engineering standards across the site and contributing to a strong benefits package and development opportunities within the business.

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years' engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification (or equivalent).
Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
Basic electrical knowledge.
Proactive and solutions-focused approach.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Mechanical fault finding and repairs.
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
Breakdown response and root cause analysis.
Continuous improvement projects.
Supporting machine reliability and production uptime.
Managing spare parts and engineering stores.
Working with external suppliers and contractors.
Maintaining accurate maintenance records.
Promoting health, safety and engineering best practices.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire

Salary: £52,(Apply online only)

Shift Pattern: Rotating Days & Nights (6-Week Pattern)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We're recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a busy manufacturing operation in Kettering.

This is a hands-on role focused on fault finding, breakdown response, planned maintenance and continuous improvement. You'll work closely with production teams to maximise machine uptime, improve reliability and help drive engineering standards across the site.

Shift Pattern

Weeks 1 & 2: Days: Monday-Wednesday, 06:00 - 18:00
Weeks 3 & 4: Nights: Monday-Thursday, 18:00 - 04:00
Weeks 5 & 6: Days: Thursday-Saturday, 06:00 - 18:00

This rotating pattern provides regular long weekends and extended periods away from work.
