Job summary

Talent RockIt Ltd seeks an experienced Maintenance Mechanical Engineer to support a large-scale manufacturing operation near Kettering. The role covers days and nights, with a 38-hour week across 12-hour shifts and a rotating 3-4 day pattern.

The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day repair and maintenance of production equipment, breakdown fixes, and driving continuous improvement projects while ensuring availability of spares and site facilities.

Qualifications

• Relevant NVQ Level 3 Qualification or have served a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.
• Experience as an Industrial Mechanical Shift Engineer in Industrial, Manufacturing or Automation.
• Experience with maintenance programmes within a large scale manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Day to day running and maintenance of production equipment, including breakdown repairs.
• Carry out planned maintenance and continuous improvement tasks.

Job description

Maintenance Mechanical Engineer (Days & Nights)

We are working with a large manufacturing business which operates 24/6 that is actively seeking to add an experienced Mechanical or Multiskilled Engineer to its Manufacturing Engineering Support teams.

Location: Near Kettering

Salary: £52,000 plus overtime

Shifts - Working an average of 38 hours per week 12 hour shifts, Monday to Saturday (For example, across a 4 week month, you would work; 3 Days On/4Days Off, 3 Days/4 Days Off, 4 Nights/3 Nights Off 4 Nights/3 Nights Off)

The successful candidate will be responsible for day to day running, repairs and maintenance of all production related equipment, including breakdown repairs and continuous improvement project/task work, ordering of spares and general site facility tasks.

To be successful, we would like you to have:

• Relevant NVQ Level 3 Qualification or have served a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship
• Have experience working as an Industrial Mechanical Shift Engineer within Industrial, Manufacturing or Automation.
• Any experience in the printing or packaging industry would be beneficial but not essential.
• Experience with maintenance programmes within a large scale manufacturing environment.
• Electromechanical skills are a definite advantage but not essential
• Have excellent communication, organisational and team work skills
• Self-motivation, ability to apply initiative and determination
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills are essential.
